We will be exhibiting at The Battery Show Europe from June 3 to 5 in Stuttgart, Germany. It is the largest battery technology expo in Europe. With the growing importance of battery inspection, including lithium-ion batteries, WHEC is showcasing our CIS line cameras as pioneers of CIS (Contact Image Sensor) technology.

1.　Long working distance CIS line scan camera
In lithium-ion battery film inspection, cameras are used to detect surface defects such as thickness variation, pinholes, and fish eyes, as well as to measure dimensions. However, in processes like coating, limited installation space can make camera integration difficult. Our long working distance CIS line scan cameras offer a compact design that allows installation even on the back side of battery films, enabling simultaneous double-sided inspection. In addition, the angle of the external lighting can be set more freely compared to conventional CIS line scan cameras, making it possible to detect previously hard-to-find defects such as scratches. 2.　LIS ultra-high-resolution line scan camera
Defects in batteries can lead directly to serious issues such as fires. WHEC’s LIS ultra-high-resolution line camera is based on CIS architecture and achieves an impressive 2000 dpi resolution. This allows it to detect extremely fine defects that are difficult to identify with conventional CIS line scan cameras.

3.　CIS line scan camera with CoaXPress 2.0 interface
In battery manufacturing processes such as lithium-ion battery film production, increasing production efficiency has driven the need for higher processing speeds. To enable inline inspection across various manufacturing stages, WHEC also offers models that support CoaXPress 2.0. With distortion-free 1:1 image acquisition, this model helps reduce the load on image processing systems.

4.　Compact CIS line scan camera
While being compact is generally an advantage of CIS line scan cameras, we have developed a series that is even smaller, designed to fit into spaces too tight for standard CIS line scan cameras. This CIS camera is suitable for the notching process. The features are the same as standard CIS line scan cameras.

5.　Oblique light source
Oblique Light illumination transforms battery film quality control by highlighting micro-defects invisible under standard lighting. Using low-angle, directional beams, this advanced optical solution amplifies surface irregularities—cracks, contaminants, coating inconsistencies—boosting detection accuracy by 50%*. Ideal for high-speed production lines, it ensures safer, longer-lasting batteries while slashing manufacturing costs. A game-changer for EV and the renewable energy sectors!
